National health (service?)
As a comparison to the private service industry, does anyone believe that the NHS provides a good (customer) service.
The National Health Service needs root and branch reform with far less government interference.
There must be Health Service professionals with the knowledge to run hospitals much more efficiently - with more care, greater output and good business practices.
If each region were given control of one hospital of their choice to manage without constraint or interference we may end up with a standard pattern of care and service to suit all. This could then be adapted at all hospitals and the lessons learnt used to adapt the other health services.
